There were no males along with her, and the female looks similar to the female of several other species. It took me several years to figure out her identity!Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15791185232391134319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6047972160037024989.post-55133768531213134232009-04-04T11:57:00.000-04:002009-04-04T11:57:00.000-04:00I've never seen a male Purple Finch but the female...I've never seen a male Purple Finch but the female looks familiar. I once read a description of the male as saying he looks like he's been dipped in grape juice. They are very vibrant.

Shelley - Yes, I think she was impressed, indeed.

Kelly - Thanks, I like the last one too. It often seems hard to catch male and female birds together in one photo.

Andy - Why thank you!Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15791185232391134319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6047972160037024989.post-42700239834440784012009-04-02T11:17:00.000-04:002009-04-02T11:17:00.000-04:00What a nice title!What a nice title!Andyhttp://andyslens.com/index/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6047972160037024989.post-88377021392028890472009-04-01T23:45:00.000-04:002009-04-01T23:45:00.000-04:00...oh I love this post.
