Chickadee love

I've been going through some photos in preparation for an upcoming post, and just couldn't wait any longer to share these 2 photos of a Carolina Chickadee at our feeders. It's a gorgeous, tough little bird, and I can't quite get over how handsome it is. While they won't eat from my hand (yet!), our chickadees are pretty fearless when I'm outside, and I was only about 3 feet away while taking these pictures.

More to come!

I observed my first Carolina Chickadee this past winter while I was camping. They visited me every day. I have to wonder how many times in the past was I looking at Carolinas and thinking they were Black-capped and just blowing them off?? I love the tint to your picture.

Karen - It's funny... in Ohio we have both species of Chickadees, and there's a fairly distinct line that divides between Black-caps in the northern 1/3 and Carolinas in the southern 2/3 of the state. Despite that knowledge, I refused to positively identify my chickadees as Carolinas (even though we live well south of the dividing line) until I had a chance to see and, more importantly, hear Black-caps on a number of occasions. Now I KNOW my chickees are Carolinas.

Nice pic of birds..Stainless steel bird cages are among the most durable and long lasting option. These cages are made from thick stainless steel wire which can take all the punishment that your pet doles out. These metallic bird cage are easy to clean and maintain and you will not see signs of wear and tear easily on these products.
