Just can't get enough...

There's that saying "good to last drop." Well, apparently bird dough is good to the last crumb. When the bowl is empty, some of my birdies will resort to trying to lap up any crumbs that might have gotten UNDER the bowl.

The Downies definitely exhibit this behavior.

Carolina Wren, however, wins the prize for "most persistent."

Ehn, ehn!

Got a morsel!

Also wins the prize for "most acrobatic."

Who can resist that little booty sticking up in the air? 'Tocks up!

Nellie - Those birds sure know how to ham it up for the camera!

Ian - My hubby made that for me. The actual bowl is just any small round dish (like the container hummus or feta cheese comes in), and then hubby cut some pieces of wood to fit around it, with some support on the bottom for the dish to sit on. (Oh, and be sure to put drainage holes in your dish!)

hello from a fellow birder. I found your site through Reds and will definitely have to book mark it. We went out the back roads today and I photographed a Hawk Owl and a red fox.
happy birding, teresa
