As the days threaten to turn cold and stay cold, I find myself dreaming of the lush and green days of summer. I was looking through some old photos very recently while searching for a shot of
Common Mullein in bloom, and came across some moss photos that I took back in July that are begging to be shared. Dappled sunlight, vibrant green, lush and moist - I can almost smell the earth through these photos...
The last photo was actually taken just a few weeks ago, but I thought I'd include it just for good measure.
What are you doing to combat the pre-winter blahs?

Riding horses is how I combat the monochrome : )
But, let's hear it for sporophytes, eh?! Lovely shots.
Heather, fantastic shots. I love these close ups. They make me beg for the warm summer days and I love getting to see the small things I sometimes miss when I'm in the woods. Thank you. Carol
Heather, Beautiful captures! Where are the little fairies? -kaholly
Meg - Horse riding sounds like a lovely way to battle the blahs.
Carol - Thank you so much. It's always nice to bring others along for the ride when I show photos like this. I'm happy to share them.
Karen - Wow, it's good to hear from you!! You're right, it does seem like there should be some fairies tucked somewhere in among all this greenery!
Love the nice lush mossy shots. They do harken to warmer days. I have been settling into the winter months with lots of crafts and blog re-formatting ...really just going back to my old format. It's fun to play around with, huh?
The bright greens are great. It reminds me of a walk I took tooking for log moss last spring. Thanks
Michele - I haven't done so much crafting yet, myself, and probably won't too much this year. We'll see. I'm now sucked into Facebook. Although we are getting our first snow today, so I'll be spending some time outside playing, for sure!
Beyond - Hello, and thanks for stopping by! I love going on moss walks - so much fun!
