Hooray for July

Happy July everyone. I'm so glad it's here. There's lots to look forward to this month!

I'm in the process of trying to squirrel away some posts that will release while I'm gone.

In the meantime, please enjoy some pics from vacations past...

We'll spend plenty of time in our kayaks...

I'll take sunset photos...

- and late night shots of the lake...

I'll do some bird watching...

- and some critter watching...

... and I'll add more photos to my "artsy" collection.

What are YOUR plans for this summer?

Hi Heather! Loved your vacay photos! Especially the kayak one! Are you bringing your kayaks to Michigan? The hubby should have his schedule finalized tomorrow and then you & I can finalize OUR plans! Looking forward to it!!!

What great photos! That is so neat that you will be meeting Kelly and Shelly!! Have fun. I don't do anything through the summer. I used to in my younger days when I could still get around. I loved going to lakes and fishing or sightseeing. I've been up to the Upper part of Michigan, back in the 70's. Loved that! Have a great summer. It goes fast!

Heather....I can't wait to meet you! I was just talking about you to a friend. It's kind of weird...I met Betsy a day after Shelley did....and now Shelley is going to meet you a day or so after you meet me. Shelley and I are two ships moving in the night...

I love the photos from the lake in Michigan. The sunset is amazing. Where do you go? Is it The Big Lake or a smaller laker?

Have a good vacation Heather. Looking forward to hearing about your fun times with Shelley and Kelly!

Shelley - Yes, we'll be bringing the yaks up with us. Can't wait to see you!

Ginny - Thanks. I'm really looking forward to meeting Kelly and Shelley. Hubby and I camped in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan years back, but now we spend our time in the northern part of the Lower Peninsula. Regardless of the location, it's always fun.

Kelly - Likewise! The time's coming up fast. I was thinking the same thing about your 1-degree-of-separation from Shelley - maybe someday you guys will get to connect! The lake we go to is one of the many small lakes in northern Michigan.

Ruthie - Thanks, I'm soooo looking forward to it. Will have a full report upon return!

I especially love that shot of the feet in the kayak and the first night shot of the lake. I look forward to photos from this year's trip to Michigan. Happy July!

I'm back!! Is Kelly going to be in Michigan????

Shelley - In the sense that I will have just met Kelly days before you and I get together... I'll bring some of her essence along (hope that doesn't sound creepy!).

Monika - Every year we go up there I get more and more excited to take my camera along. That shot of my feet in the kayak is the ONLY time I have taken my camera out on the water - I'm too afraid of tipping the boat or dropping it in the water!

Well our plans for summer are 'on hold' for a number of reasons but I wish you a very happy trip to Michigan. I'm so so jealous that your'e seeing Kelly & Shelly - give them a hug from me. Lol FAB

Frank - Oh, I hope this doesn't mean you got bad news at work! I'm glad you were able to do a little traveling, at least. I will be absolutely sure to hug those girls for you - I'm sure they will love a FAB hug!

Heather, I love your photography but I have to confess that the busy background with the white lettering makes it awfully difficult to read. I hope you don't mind me telling you that. I know it looks pretty but it is distracting.

Kathie - Thank you for your feedback. I don't mind you telling my about the background issue at all, I'm glad you did. Do you mean that all you see is the busy "ferny" background with white text on top? The way the page should render is with the busy stuff just along the outside edges, while the color behind the white text is supposed to be just plain blue. Sounds like that's not what you're seeing. Let me know if that's the case. What browser are you using?
